Who "IS" this guy?
Gene Boyd is an eternal optimist that believes every cloud has a silver lining. He is a family man – married to his wife Sharon for over 35 years, he knows about commitment. Being a U.S. military veteran, and having raised two adult children, a son and a daughter, Gene also understands the importance of leadership and the necessity of discipline. There’s two sides to every coin – he’s fair.
Being an entrepreneur, he is self-motivated and determined, and as a small business owner, Gene is no stranger to management, customer service and public relations. A former pastor and philanthropist, Gene understands how different beliefs influence decisions, and he is compassionate as well as sympathetic to other’s needs. He is a creative and resourceful genius. He is results oriented.
Gene is no bullsh_ _t_r, and he doesn’t care to hang with those who are. His belief is that we are what we have chosen to be, and it’s nobody’s fault but our own if we’re not happy. He doesn’t care what you believe, just don’t try to shove it down his throat. If it’s your problem, it’s your problem – deal with it. Gene doesn’t spend a lot of time on hobbies, but he does love horses, Harleys, hot rods and handguns – oh, golf & guitars too.
He is an excellent and avid reader, and is completly self taught in his profession. Gene is not a "religious" man, but he met the Universe and he knows who it really is. He knows he’s not perfect, and he also understands that no one else is either. He knows what he believes, and he knows what he knows. And even though Gene knows a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff, he knows that he doesn’t know everything about anything. Wanna know more? Just ask!
Life is a wonderful journey, I’m glad you decided to share a part of your journey with me by reading my blog. Be blessed with hope, love and peace. -gb.

I think there’s a lot more to the “man.” I’m particularly interested in the universe. And I can definitely tell that you are taking a positive outlook on your “next 30 years.” Love ya man. -T
Interesting…it is very hard to put ourselves into words so that others understand who we are and how we got there. In a general way, you have described the very positive Gene Boyd that I’ve known all my life. However, I find that using blanket statements about ourselves is a very difficult way to truly communicate who we are to others. While there seem to be a few of these statements in your ‘Who “IS” This Guy?’ blog, you do get across your energy and enthusiasm for family, life, optimism, and the enjoyment of owning and operating a small business. I agree with Tony…there is a lot more to the man, Gene Boyd, than you were able to put in this blog…but if I understand correctly, it is meant to be “the big picture” rather than “the detailed portrait.”

I have a few questions…or possibly challenges to what I perceive to be “blanket statements,” but I have never found you to be unwilling to take on a challenge or to help someone understand what you are saying. I’ll email them to you so that you can ponder them and explain. It’s possible I misunderstand the statements, or it’s possible my thoughts may help you make them clearer to your other readers. I hope they will be helpful observations, and will help me to know you a little better after all! Love you bunches, Renee
